I feel like Grant-Davie defines purpose in relationship to writing basically as involving the key terms to complete your objective. purpose connects to each of our key terms because you need to address all 4 in order to be successful in fulfilling your purpose of writing.

I plan to use a few things from Greene’s essay, including his advice on framing a good question. I’ve been using his questions under “entering the conversation” because I think they’re all great questions that I should be considering in order to make sure I have a strong topic for this assignment.

in the student essay I would say her purpose was to find the connection between extracurricular and academic writings. The writer has her primary research organized and clearly stated. I don’t think that I have any questions about assignment 2 at this point (I’m sure that will change). I think seeing the sample essay was extremely helpful to be able to look at it and have the example right in front of me.
